Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza runs on a diesel engine mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT system. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza petrol variant is in the final stages of production.
With the BSVI deadline looming near, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will get a BSVI-compliant 1.5L K15B petrol engine. Maruti Ciaz, Maruti Ertiga, and the upcoming Maruti XL6 have the same engine.
The new Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission initially with the 4-speed AMT variant expected at a later stage. The vehicle might not get cosmetic changes. However, it will rival SUVs like Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport, and the Tata Nexon.
Maruti Suzuki India has decided against selling diesel vehicles from April 2020. However, there are chances of the introduction of BSVI-compliant diesel engine driven Maruti vehicles in the future.
