It is already releasing a new micro SUV, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso in September/October 2019, as part of its endeavour to upgrade its vehicles to conform to BSVI emission norms. Maruti Suzuki is also exploring possibilities of introducing a 7-seater Vitara along with a Jimny-based SUV at the Auto Expo 2020.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has been successful for the company since its introduction. However, the arrival of Hyundai Venue and Mahindra XUV300 has pushed its sales back a little. The higher-end vehicles could get four airbags and a sunroof. The SUV will also come with a BSVI-compliant 1.5L petrol engine, as is available in the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
