Kia Motors, the South Korean manufacturer made huge growth in profits with its first launch – Kia Seltos and it set a new record for the new entrants in India. The future-ready BS-VI engine Seltos with eye-catching looks was launched at Rs.9.69 Lakhs undercutting the massive margin from its opponents priced at much more than Seltos.

Kia Seltos had made an entry in top SUVs with the sale of 6236 units in August 2019 and managed to stay at the top in 2 months with 7754 units in September 2019. It has beaten the records of Hyundai Creta and MG Hector. Hyundai, being on second managed to make sales of 6001 units of Creta while standing at third, the new entrant MG Hector sold 2000 units only.

To fulfill high demand in the market, the waiting period has extended for up to 2 months. Over 40000 bookings are received by the company. This is for the very first time for a new entrant to set such a record as no other car has got huge bookings in a short passage of time.

Kia Seltos comes into two trim lines- GT line comprising of GTK and GTX and Tech line which was further divided into HTE, HTK, HTK Plus, HTX and HTX Plus. The 3rd generation BS-VI compliant engine comes with 3 variants: 1.5L petrol engine generating 115hp power and 144 Nm torque, 1.4L Turbo petrol with 140hp and 242Nm torque, and 1.5 Diesel variant with 115hp Power and 250Nm torque. The engines are mated with 6-speed manual transmission and a 3-speed automatic transmission option.
