Benelli Imperiale 400 has registered over 1200 bookings since its launch in the Indian market, reports IAB. The company had initiated the bookings in September at a token amount of Rs 4000 across all its authorized dealerships.
The bike was finally launched a few days at a sticker price of Rs 1.69 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India). The deliveries of the Imperiale 400 have already started.
Benelli India has high hopes from the Imperiale 400 and it intends to garner significant volumes. The company has focused heavily on aggressive pricing by installing several affordable hardware in the motorcycle.
The Imperiale 400 boasts of 41 mm conventional telescopic forks as a front suspension while there are preload-adjustable dual springs at the helm of rear suspension setup. It features a halogen headlamp and semi-digital instrument cluster. Though, safety features are on offer in abundance in form of dual disc brakes at front and rear along with a dual-channel ABS as standard.
Mechanically, Benelli Imperiale 400 is powered by a BS 4 certified 373.5cc single-cylinder air-cooled SOHC petrol engine which delivers top power of 21bhp at 5500rpm and peak torque of 29Nm at 4500rpm. The engine also uses the electronic fuel injection system while paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
The company has said that it will launch the BS 6 compliant engine before April 2020. The motorcycle rivals a couple of products from Royal Enfield (Classic 350 and Classic 500) and Jawa (Forty-Two and Classic).
