Mahindra and Mahindra have opened its first all-women service center in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. The first all-women Mahindra service station is one of the ‘Compact Qwik’ centers that caters to regular service only and aims for quick turnaround time.
This is a part of the manufacturer’s ‘Pink Collars’ initiative, which aims to put more women in core productive roles in Mahindra workshops.
The Compact Qwik service center is staffed by nine women and operates two bays. It is owned and operated by Kalyan Motors, one of Mahindra’s channel partners in Jaipur. Women fill all positions at the workshop – technician, service advisor, driver, part manager, and security guard as well.
Mahindra is promoting the hiring of more women by waiving the fee for technical training of female dealer employees, up to one-third of the dealer’s employees.
The Pink Collar initiative also encourages channel partners to tie up with Industrial Training Institutes so that up-to-date knowledge can be given to students. Special recruitment drives are also conducted at these institutes to hire women for the company.
