  • The updated range will feature BS 6 engines.

  • 2020 Royal Enfield range will also come with subtle cosmetic updates.

Royal Enfield is expected to unveil the new-generation Bullet, 2020 Classic and 2020 Thunderbird range at the 2019 EICMA in Milan. The Motorcycle Show is commencing from tomorrow, i.e. November 5, 2019, in Italy.

For those asking, RE will not attend the Auto Expo 2020 which is scheduled to start in February in Greater Noida. All three products are expected to be showcased with BS 6 certified engines.

Speaking of the 2020 Royal Enfield Classic, it will be underpinning a new architecture along with several cosmetic updates. It will have a restyled headlamp, tweaked instrument console, and switchgear. It is also believed that it now boasts of a new seat layout while the tail lamp and rear fender also come with tweaks.

Mechanically, the 2020 Classic will carry the same 346cc and 499cc engines. However, the former will get fuel injection technology in place of the carburetor in order to qualify for the BS 6 emission norms. The 499cc model already comes with this technology.

Coming to the 2020 Royal Enfield Bullet and 2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird, they will also be based on the new J platform as the Classic range. The cosmetic updates will also be on the similar lines such as a redesigned headlamp, instrument cluster, and rear fender.

The mechanical updates will also be limited to upgrading the BS-IV unit to BS-VI emission norms. The company is expected to launch all these models in the Indian market before April 1, 2020, which is the stipulated deadline for retailing BS 4 compliant vehicles.
