Benelli Leoncino 800 has made its world premiere at the 2019 EICMA in Milan, Italy. The bike, in all likelihood, will also be launched in the Indian market but a definite timeline is not known yet.
The company has been launching several products in India of late and it might also introduce the Leoncino 800 too. Upon its launch, Benelli Leoncino 800 will directly rival the Ducati Scrambler series in India.
Speaking of the motorcycle, it will follow the company’s global design philosophy while flaunting a retro theme with sharp and sculpted lines. Boasting of a simplistic approach, the bikes resemble a beefed-up version of the Leoncino 500 albeit with Scrambler-esque design.
It would come with an LED headlamp and TFT instrument cluster while having a fuel tank with a capacity of 15 liters. Both the front and rear wheels are 17-inch with a tubeless tire size of 120/70-17 and 180/55-17, respectively.
Mechanically, Benelli Leoncino 800 will be powered by a 754cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine which will develop top power of 81.6bhp at 9000rpm and peak torque of 67Nm at 6500rpm. It is linked to a 6-speed gearbox along with a slipper clutch as standard.
The engine is kept inside an all-new frame which is laid on a 50mm Marzocchi USD fork and it offers preload adjustability of 130mm. The rear suspension is monoshock pre-load adjustable while braking duties are helmed by 320mm dual disc brakes.
