Targets the launch of five new models for India launch shortly.

The total number of new launches will be 13.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India had opened its first BigWing motorcycle dealership in April this year. The idea was to have a one-stop-shop for sales and service for all its premium products, just like it used to have Wing World dealerships before.
The manufacturer is now entering phase 2 of its plan for the Big Wing dealerships, which involves a raft of new premium models for the Indian market.
The total number of new premium models for the Indian market will be 13, as per Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd. Of these, five models will be completely new. Six models are currently listed on the website for Honda Big Wing.
Three new models that were unveiled at EICMA, Milan, this month, were the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, and the CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports. We expect that the rest will be updates to current models that will be launched in the Indian market as well.
The Big Wing dealerships currently sell Honda’s premium products, with the most affordable offering at a Big Wing dealership being the Honda CB300R.
Honda still remains the market leader in the scooter space with the Activa and its variants and does extremely well with the Shine and Shine SP, and the various 150cc and 160cc models like the CB Unicorn 150, X-Blade, and CB Hornet 160R.
However, its inroads into the segments above that with products like the CBR150R and CBR250R have not been as successful. Since this is where the next step of growth and profitability will come from, Honda will need to focus on the premium segments more than ever.
