One of the Husqvarna 401 models might launch in India by December 2019 at the India Bike Week.
Recent spy images revealed the Swedish bike manufacturer Husqvarna working on a larger version of the Svartpilen and Vitpilen models of the Husqvarna 401 series. Apart from these twin bikes, the Husqvarna 901 Norden will also feature a big-bore twin-cylinder engine. The EICMA 2019 witnessed the unveiling of the 901 Norden concept alongside the Husqvarna twins.
From what little is known about the bike, the 901 Norden seems to be a hardcore adventure bike modeled on the lines of the KTM 790 Adventure. Though it is still at the concept stage, one thing is sure and that is the bike will get an 889.5cc parallel-twin engine similar to the one seen on the Husqvarna twins.
Besides, the 901 Norden concept features a 21-inch front wheel supported by an 18-inch rear wheel. It will sport a WP-sourced suspension system.
Images reveal the bike to be a sturdy one capable of encountering off-road conditions beautifully. The astonishing ground clearance coupled with spoked wheels, knobby tyres, and a tall suspension ensures that the bike will deliver exceptional off-road performance. One can also expect knuckle guards and saddlebags as additional equipment.
The design of the bike is not yet made public, but it could be as muscular and imposing as the Husqvarna twins.
The EICMA 2019 saw the unveiling of the 2020 Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 along with the 901 Norden Concept. New updates await the 401 twins in the form of an extended seat and subframe along with exciting color schemes.
There are plans of introducing the Svartpilen 401 in India, as the model was spotted testing in Indian conditions. The images revealed that the bike had alloy wheels borrowed from the KTM 390 Duke, whereas the international model sports spoked wheels. The prototype featured grab rails that are essential for motorcycles sold in India.
One can expect an Indian launch in December at the India Bike Week.
